I'm sure some of you may have noticed that I haven't posted any writing or stamps for quite some time. In fact, you may have noticed that I haven't been nearly as active on dA as I have been during most of my time here.
There's a reason for it. dA made a change to their administrative body in December that I find to be not only careless, but highly inappropriate given the person they put in the position. I won't say who this somebody is or what department they were placed in, but mark my words, they are NOT fit to do what the position requires of them. Because of this (and several other things that I won't get into here), I've decided to more or less leave dA. I come back here on occasion to correspond with my friends and to manage my clubs, but the latter may soon be turned over to better, more capable hands. It's possible that I may come back when they excuse this person from their duties, but don't hold your breath. I'll be popping back in periodically to respond to whatever comments I get on this journal for about a week, then I'll probably drop out for good.
Any of you who are interested in my jumbled, out-of-the-box thoughts can keep up with me at my WordPress blog: www.hippieredneck.com
Au revoir, all. If I've already given you information, you can ask me more explicit questions about this via Facebook, email, Skype, or MSN.

Why It Gets Better
Bullying. We've all experienced it, we've all witnessed it, and, as much as some of us may hate to admit it, we've all engaged in it. Ever since the dawn of time, it's been a fact of life for human beings. It comes in many forms and degrees, from threatening messages on personal webpages, to taunts and insults, to acts of violence. When the perpetrator is especially persistent, it's a combination of the three.
Over the past year, bullying has been at the front lines of American news media. Several gay teenagers committed suicide in one week, which sparked the attention of columnist Dan Savage, who prompted scores of celebrities and regu

...I'll be doing something that BethanyWade (https://www.deviantart.com/bethanywade) pressured me into. Post your answer as a comment.
What would you do if you woke up naked in my bed with me?
Well That Was a Bust
So, I'm back from Army Basic. Yes, it is early for that. I'm home early because they declared me a 4f due to my leg condition, which I'm sure was aggravated by the low altitude. I'm sure you'll all be wanting to hear about it, so I'll be telling you the truth about the whole thing. I don't like mincing words, and I'm not about to start now.
I hated it. In fact, I more than hated it; it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I never actually went to training itself because of my medical condition. Instead, I was what they called a "holdover". I waited almost a month for my clinic to send the information I needed, and then they r
The Long-Discussed Hiatus
So, it's finally upon us, folks. I will be taking a 9-week (possibly slightly longer) hiatus from dA and the rest of the internet while I am at Army Basic Training. I leave tomorrow at 7:00 AM Daylight Mountain Time.
Army training works in two phases initially: First, there is Basic Combat Training, which is the same for everybody, and lasts nine weeks, four days. For recruits who pass, this is the only time they will undergo it, unless they choose to enlist in another branch (such as the Air Force or Marine Corps) once their contract is up. My BCT (the military LOVES to abbreviate) will be at Fort Jackson, which is located in Charleston
