Janeway Stamp by loqutor Janeway Stamp by loqutor
I haven't even finished the second season of Voyager, but DAMN I LOVE THIS WOMAN! She's strong, willful, and commanding, and yet she manages to retain her femininity. Now THAT is what I call a true feminist.

Janeway is (c) Rick Berman, Jeri Taylor, Michael Piller, and Kate Mulgrew.

Janeway didn't get where she did by being female but by being tough!

She'd become more of a hard-nose as the show plowed on, but yeah.
Haven't watched Voyager in what feels like years, maybe that's because they haven't re-run it for what feels like years.

I wouldn't know. I've been having a hard time getting my hands on episodes of Season 5.

Oh yes, a true feminist indeed! Janeway was the reason I started to watch Voyager, since I was a wee right feminist when I was younger and "Look! A female Captain!" and Kate Mulgrew potrays her character fantastically! Mulgrew is one of the most underrated actress, EVER!

I've never seen Mulgrew in anything else, but I have to agree. Janeway is certainly not a token female Captain. You can tell after watching her for just five minutes that she has earned her position fair and square.

I've seen her in Mrs. Columbo! She was amazing in that! Such an amazing actress...

Did you see the actress they originally cast for Janeway's role? Her name was Geneviève Bujold, and she was atrocious. [link]

I knew about that. I saw her in Coma - she was good in that. But I've not seen that video before - OMG she's so AWFUL!

I am so frickin' glad she had the common sense to quit and let Mulgrew take over - she's the best!

I personally don't drink coffee, but if I were on the Voyager, I'd make sure there was a pot of Blue Mountain brewing in my quarters at all times, just in case the Captain walked by. ;)

Hah don't pass the buck.

Janeway is a kind of a gauge - it's always interesting to see how guys react to her personality. This makes you my BFF forevah.

Q, ha ha. Not many Q eps in there and they're all good. Oh just wait till you get to Year of Hell and Equinox and Dark Frontier and too many other eppies to tell, you'll fall in love with her ten times harder. That woman defines awesome.

All I can say is that any man who looks down on her is trying to hide his fear of her.
